Family Resource Centers (FRC)

FRCs are committed to removing barriers and providing access to Metro Nashville Public School families in need. Families who benefit from the centers often face challenges, such as poverty, unemployment, low academic achievement, homelessness and more.

PENCIL is responsible for managing four school-based FRCs at the following locations:

  • Tusculum Elementary School
  • Antioch High School
  • Glencliff High School
  • Maplewood High School

With the help of PENCIL Partners, the PENCIL Family Resource Centers stock emergency food, clothing and supplies and provide access to services, such as counseling, employment resources, GED, English-language classes, parent classes, eye exams, and student leadership groups.

PENCIL Partners

The Family Resource Centers have a variety of partnership opportunities for businesses and organizations:

1. Provide Services

Offer services that could help remove barriers for FRC families.

2. Host

Host a clothing, supply or food drive internally for your employees and constituents to drop off items that are then donated directly to our school-based Family Resource Centers FREE for low-income families.

3. Sponsor

Sponsor a family gathering by donating food, beverages or giveaways.
