NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Titans fans on their way to the game did their part to help Metro Nashville Public School students and teachers.

The 13th annual LP Pencil Box School Supply Drive was held outside Nissan Stadium on Sunday during the Titans regular season home opener.

People dropped off everything from paper and notebooks, to pencils and backpacks.

Participation has continued to grow each year, and organizers said each donation goes a long way in helping students.

“About 75 percent of MNPS students live in poverty. Literally getting paper and pencils in their hands really aids in their learning,” said Angie Adams, President and CEO at PENCIL Foundation.

The goal was to collect about $10,000 dollars worth of school supplies. That will help about 400 teachers.
