PENCIL is a dedicated and diverse group of individuals working to support public education in Nashville by connecting businesses, organizations of faith and higher education with MNPS students and schools. We are looking for passionate and creative individuals who want to join our organization to make a difference in our community. Accelerating Scholars School Site Coordinator
The Accelerating Scholars Site Coordinator is responsible for building a welcoming, supportive environment to ensure all tutors feel confident in serving as an Accelerating Scholars tutor. The coordinator will support elementary schools in their cluster(s) throughout the district and will assist new and existing volunteers in an effort to increase volunteer retention. The coordinator will also build relationships with businesses and organizations to recruit new volunteers to serve at Accelerating Scholars schools. The coordinator will serve as the main link between tutors and the school. The coordinator will be expected to serve as a tutor to have a complete picture of the tutor experience.

Accelerating Scholars Data Coordinator
The Data Coordinator will work to support Accelerating Scholars in all areas of database management, reporting, and attendance tracking. This position will also own helpdesk support for all tutors, students, and staff who need technical assistance with Accelerating Scholars technology. The Data Coordinator will process daily background check reports for Accelerating Scholars and a general weekly report for other background check needs.

Tech & Data Engagement Coordinator
the Tech & Data Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for managing the emerging needs for PENCIL’s technology engagement tools: PENCIL Me In and PENCIL Library. This position will enhance MNPS’ and various stakeholders’ engagement with PENCIL’s virtual tools. Additionally, this position will direct all PENCIL Background check work, regularly communicating with both volunteers and MNPS representatives.

Volunteer Recruiter
The Volunteer Recruiter proactively researches and calls on potential PENCIL Partners to recruit new tutors for MNPS tutoring programs each month. The goal of this position is to continually attract and onboard new tutors who can be of meaningful service to MNPS students.

Please email a cover letter, three professional references, and a one-page recruitment plan for how you would market and recruit tutors for a Metro Nashville Public Schools program, focused on tutoring 3,500 1st – 3rd grade students during school, to hr@pencil615.org
