NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Teachers got the chance to pick up some free supplies thanks to PENCIL, which links Metro schools to community resources.
Thursday, they opened the LP Pencilbox, a school supplies spot just for teachers.
It’s part of an initiative by PENCIL to make sure students have the school supplies they need and teachers don’t have to foot the bill.
“To have teachers have the supplies they need to keep their students in action in the classroom is critically important to the district,” Angie Adams said.
Metro schools teachers can “shop” twice a year at no cost. If you’d like to donate or volunteer, you can visit them online.
