Bass Learning Center Partners with Beacon Technologies for Innovative STEAM Program

On Monday, July 12, representatives from Bass Learning Center, Beacon Technologies, PENCIL, and an educational consultant met to develop a new STEAM program intended to train and enrich students in a variety of workplace-ready skills. Business partner, Beacon Tech, provided details about their most desired skills with which students should enter the workforce.

Teachers from Bass Learning Center representing each letter in the STEAM acronym (Science, Technology, English*, Arts, and Math) were present in the discussion, along with assistant principal Shannon Crawford. The team of hand-picked professionals shared goals, strategies to accomplish those goals, and real-world scenarios for a successful program.

Inspired by the potential of this STEAM program to increase workforce readiness and industry-specific skills, PENCIL is proud to bring these community members together for growth and innovation at Bass.
