While most Nashvillians are enjoying summer, PENCIL is looking ahead to the back-to-school season. Plans are coming together nicely for Together 4 Teachers (T4T), PENCIL’s annual project that kicks off the new school year with food, games, and bags of school supplies celebrating our Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) teachers. When the Pep Rally takes place on Monday, July 29, it will mark five years of this popular project. In recognition of this milestone, we have some very exciting news to share.

The Together 4 Teachers Pep Rally has a new home! Nashville Soccer Club, the city’s stellar Major League Soccer team, has generously offered to host T4T at GEODIS Park, its home in the heart of Wedgewood-Houston.

“Nashville Soccer Club is thrilled to open the doors of GEODIS Park to PENCIL and its Together 4 Teachers Pep Rally for the first time so that we can expand on our partnership and continue supporting local schools and educators,” said Brandon Hill, Head of Community Engagement for Nashville SC. “MNPS teachers are vital to the success of our community, and our club is committed to helping ensure they have the tools they need to continue making a positive impact on children’s lives.”

We are also thrilled to announce and welcome our new Pep Rally Sponsors – Coca-Cola Consolidated, Inc., the nation’s largest Coca-Cola bottler, and BODYARMOR, its popular sports drink brand and corporate partner of Nashville SC. You can expect to see Coca-Cola Consolidated and BODYARMOR sprinkled throughout the Pep Rally, including complimentary drinks, a slushy truck and 360 photobooth.

“As Nashville’s local bottler, we steadfastly believe in the power of community partnerships,” said Keith Burnette, VP of the Mid-South Market Unit for Coca-Cola Consolidated. “By joining forces with organizations in the communities we serve, such as PENCIL and Nashville SC, we can enhance existing initiatives and, in this case, equip teachers with support and help where it matters most.”

PENCIL also wishes to recognize this year’s T4T major partners, including District Sponsors Dollar General, Amazon, and Nissan; Pack-A-Thon Sponsor Asurion; and School Sponsors Ingram Charities and Nashville Predators Foundation. Their continuing support makes this annual tradition a success.

With generous support from the Nashville community, the Together 4 Teachers Pep Rally serves as the initial delivery site for in-demand school and teacher supplies before the start of the school year. It shows support for and celebrates the work of MNPS educators as well as reminds them to “shop” at the DG PENCIL Box year-round.

We cannot wait to celebrate and appreciate our teachers at GEODIS Park on Monday, July 29!
