Christiane Buggs, PENCIL CEO, Featured in Model Behavior
PENCIL CEO Christiane Buggs is featured in Nfocus magazine’s Model Behavior, a series that highlights Nashville leaders and the people helping shape the city’s future.
Since joining PENCIL, Christiane has brought a clear vision for what it means to build a stronger Nashville: when businesses, educators, community leaders, and neighbors come together around students, everyone benefits.
At the heart of PENCIL’s work is a simple but powerful idea — our schools should not have to navigate the challenges facing students and educators alone. Nashville has an incredible network of businesses, nonprofits, civic leaders, and community members with resources, expertise, and time to share. PENCIL helps connect those resources to the places where they can make a meaningful difference.
In Nfocus, Christiane reflects on leadership and the importance of building relationships across Nashville. Her work reflects the belief that community partnership is not simply about providing resources; it is about creating relationships rooted in shared responsibility, listening, and a commitment to the success of Nashville’s students.
That vision continues to shape PENCIL as we expand opportunities for businesses and community members to engage with Metro Nashville Public Schools — from volunteering in classrooms and supporting educators to providing supplies, career-based learning experiences, and meaningful connections between schools and the broader Nashville community.
We’re grateful to see Christiane’s leadership recognized by Model Behavior and even more grateful for the opportunity to work alongside her as we build a Nashville where every student has the opportunity to be known, supported, and successful.
