PENCIL’s retail space for educators is filled with classroom essentials such as pencils, crayons, copy paper, notebooks, book bags, glue sticks, hand sanitizer, and so much more. The store is stocked solely by generous donations from national brands, the Nashville community, and our PENCIL Partners. MNPS teachers can shop at ABSOLUTELY NO COST TO THEM!
With many of MNPS’ 86,000 students coming from economically disadvantaged households, the DG PENCIL Box is the community’s collective effort to ensure no student is hindered by lack of supplies.
Metro Nashville Public Schools teachers are invited to shop for free at the DG PENCIL Box once a month.
Teachers must sign up to shop.
Businesses and Organizations can participate in the DG PENCIL Box in a few different ways:
Hold a “Supply Drive” internally for your employees and constituents to drop off supplies. Supplies are then donated directly to our DG PENCIL Box Store to be given for FREE to MNPS teachers.
Sign up to inventory, sort, and package donated supplies, or facilitate teacher shopping.
Select a specific high-need item that teachers request most, i.e. hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and paper towels. When you underwrite the cost, we purchase the product at wholesale and provide it to teachers for free while promoting your brand with the product.
