As unprecedented growth continues at PENCIL, the organization is elevating staff roles to more accurately reflect the duties and responsibilities of key leadership positions. The newly minted Chief Partnerships & Programs Officer (Bob Kucher) and Chief Philanthropy Officer (Kelly Rolf), join our Chief Operating Officer (Dr. Robert Wallace) and Chief Executive Officer (Angie Adams) in rounding out the executive team at PENCIL. PENCIL CELEBRATES ITS EXPANSION OF MNPS TEACHER RESOURCES WITH NEW SPONSOR ON 1/26

Nashville, TN (January 25, 2022) – PENCIL will host a ribbon cutting at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, January 26 to commemorate Dollar General Literacy Foundation as the new Presenting Sponsor of the PENCIL Box, PENCIL’s free school supply store for Metro Nashville Public School (MNPS) teachers. The ribbon cutting will also mark the official opening of our second DG PENCIL Box location – a satellite store in Antioch, where MNPS teachers can “shop” on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the Spring.

PENCIL Receives $175,000 Grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to Support Metro Teachers and Students

Nashville, TN – January 20, 2022 – Dollar General Literacy Foundation will become the new Presenting Sponsor of the PENCIL Box, PENCIL’s free school supply store for Metro Nashville Public School (MNPS) teachers. With an investment of $175,000, the program will be renamed the DG PENCIL Box and will ensure that MNPS teachers have access to essential classroom supplies.

LP Building Solutions to be Honored with Ingram Award at PENCIL Back to School Breakfast

LP Building Solutions has been chosen as the 2021 recipient of PENCIL’s prestigious Ingram Award. The Ingram Award is given each year to a community partner or volunteer who provides outstanding support and engagement to Metro Nashville Public Schools through PENCIL. Named for the late E. Bronson Ingram, a founding Board member of PENCIL, the Ingram Award will be presented at the August 18th event by Hank Ingram (Ingram Industries) to LP Building Solutions Chair and Chief Executive Officer Brad Southern.
