On August 21st, 2026, PENCIL welcomed committed Nashville community members and business leaders back to Belmont University to celebrate our ninth annual Back to School Breakfast fundraiser, presented by Nissan. 

We were delighted to celebrate this year’s Ingram Award winner, Margaret Anne Byerly with Enterprise Solutions, for her long-standing commitment to mentoring and developing students in Metro schools. We were honored to hear from Mayor Freddie O’Connell and Director of Schools Dr. Adrienne Battle; and we witnessed an incredible dance performance by MNPS student Miae Milan Bluing of “Confidence”, a new song composed by MNPS students and Nashville music industry professionals!
